چکیده

A study was carried out to investigate, whether short-term supplementation of dietary yeast nucleotides affects total and diurnal variation of enzyme activities in the small intestine of weaned piglets. Twelve barrows, weaned at 18 d of age (5 kg initial BW), were fitted with a simple T-cannula at the distal ileum. Twice daily (0730 and 1930 h), 6 piglets each received a cereal-soybean (Glycine max) meal-based diet with or without supplementation of 1 g/kg of a yeast nucleotide product in 2 consecutive periods. In each period, digesta samples were collected 6 times at given intervals during 24 h digesta collection. Dietary supplementation with yeast nucleotides did not affect (P > 0.05) total enzyme activities for α-amylase, leucine aminopeptidase (LAP), maltase, and lactase in ileal digesta. Therefore, data of both treatments were pooled to determine diurnal variations in enzyme activities. For α-amylase, a diurnal variation in enzyme activity could be observed (P < 0.05). Variations in diurnal activities of LAP, maltase, and lactase were not observed (P > 0.05). In conclusion, yeast nucleotides do not affect total small intestinal enzyme activities. Independent of diet composition, α-amylase activities may vary over time, with peak flow at 6 h postprandially.

Effect of Cereal Type and Enzyme Addition on Performance, Pancreatic Enzyme Activity, Intestinal Microflora and Gut Morphology of Broilers

The effects of grain and carbohydrase enzyme supplementation were investigated on digestive physiology of chickens. A total of 625 one-day-old chicks (Ross 308) were randomly assigned to five treatments in a completely randomized design. Treatments included two different types of grains (wheat, and barley) with or without a multi-carbohydrase supplement. A corn-based diet was also considered to...

Effects of dietary supplementation of organic acids and phytase on performance and intestinal histomorphology of broilers

The present experiment was conducted to evaluate the effects of organic acids and phytase enzyme supplementation on performance and intestinal histomorphology of broilers. The experiment was done in a factorial arrangement 2 × 2 × 2 based on completely randomized design with eight treatments, five replicates with 12 chicks in each until 42 days of age. Diets included natural vinegar (0 and 2%),...

A 50-day feeding trial was conducted to evaluate the effects of yeast nucleotide in diets on growth performance, serum immune indices and muscle composition of Ancherythroculter nigrocauda (mean initial body weight, 23.30±0.59 g). Seven isonitrogenous (approximately 42.76% crude protein) and isoenergetic (17.43 KJ g−1 gross energy) experimental diets with varying levels of yeast nucleotide (0[c...

The Effect of Short-Term Coenzyme Q10 Supplementation on Malondialdehyde and Serum Catalase ‎Enzyme Activity Following Moderate and Severe Acute Resistance Training Inactive Female Students

Background and Objectives: It has been reported that antioxidant supplementation may reduce the oxidative stress caused by exercise activities. But according to the type of activity, dose and type of supplement, the results in this area are contradictory. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of short-term coenzyme Q10 supplementation on malondialdehyde (MDA) and serum catalase en...
